But the Santa Maria Vaqueros answered with a composed home effort, powered by Matias Madrigal's 27 points, to escape with a 123-120 victory. The loss stings for Appleton — Briscoe gave them everything, and it wasn't enough. The Papermakers will need to find secondary contributors if they want to stay in contention.

I got to my spots and got some good looks, but individual numbers don't mean much when we're still searching for that first win.
